Susan + Bret
A lovely wedding day this was. Susan and I connected through mutual friends of ours and when the three of us finally met up it was an instant friendship. Bret has the most ridiculously adorable son with a grin that would knock you right over and the sweetest daughter who just adored them. The two had plans to marry and by doing that they would blend their two families into one. There was a lot of talk about past times and past loved ones who were missed on Bret and Susan's wedding day, but going through the afternoon and into the evening their loving presence was seen and felt everywhere. Whether it was the light bouncing off my lens or the old stories Susan told me about going to the fountain with her grandfather or going through her grandmothers scarves, those who weren't there were remembered and a big part of the celebration that day.
Their deep love for each other and the life that they are leading can be seen all over their faces in every photograph. The two chose to keep the tradition of not seeing each other until they met at the end of the aisle and it was completely worth it when I turned to see Bret's face. With tears on each side and a grin just as big as his kid he looked at her with such warmth and pride. They continued to hold hands and smile and cry back and forth throughout the rest of the wedding night and it was a true pleasure to be a part of it all.
To Susan and Bret.
