f o l l o w  u s

this past week we took a last minute trip to a farm i had randomly picked off the internet. august had been begging to hang out with some goats and i had been wanting to find a place where we could all go and let the girls run around. somewhere without lines, parking or rules in general. well, by random we happened to walk into a place that was exactly that. the only rule here at gorman heritage farm was to be respectful of the animals, flowers, fruits and growing veggies. with wide eyes and already dirty hands the girls were getting into everything they could possible explore. I think we were all blown away by how adorable and perfect this place was. Gorman Heritage farm is a family run 122 acre working farm and outdoor education center...thats right, an education center. forget summer camp, my kid is going to FARM camp. its always amazing to watch a kid with an animal. even if its only for a moment that sudden calm and understanding between the two is absolutely beautiful to watch. its as if this horse knew to be gentle and slow. like he knew to let them look, let them climb close and let them breath him in. as a crazy mom with a camera it was hard for me to stay behind them. to back a way and let them have that time, but i did and the picture is my reward. the horses, goats, enormous sunflower field, kids garden, and even a cute little visitor center run by a sweet older woman with a rope around her glasses. this place had it all. one foot up the hill and all we heard was "follow us!"
