when my little sister and college best friend decide to get hitched

i met kyle my first year of college (my first time around) and we instantly hit it off. although absolutely no chemistry (gross) we knew we would be in each other's life for more than just a college moment. it wasn't even a few weeks into our new school year that i introduced kyle to my little sister linds. a baby named lucy and 9 years later he sends me a message about a ring and I could not have been happier! the long secret was hard to keep from my sister to whom i tell anything and everything.  but the wait was worth it. kyle let me play a very important part in the proposal plan. i hid behind the playground castle with my camera with tears already running down my face in anticipation of their arrival. they walked down the sidewalk with their now 3 year old lucy swinging in their arms and headed for the fountains. that was my cue, i ran across the gazeebo garden and got as close as i could as soon as i could. he popped the question, kissed her hand and i saw her face....IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. I will never forget

that sunday morning in washington park, cincinnati.

my sister in law has been working extremely hard to build her dream shop in her hometown of cincinnati oh. fern studio opened its doors for the first time a few weeks ago as a lifetyle design store with carefully curated assortments of plants and local artwork. her unique style and modern asthetic has everyone in town talking. I was lucky enough to be a part of the action that sunday while snapping photos on the sidelines. I am so proud of her and this beautiful shop.

when everything seems quiet and simple are my favorite.
